My friend Huddson Lee from Dean Holland’s, Starting With Marketing Academy tagged me to come up with the following list. I have to admit that it was tougher than I thought to come up with 25 things, but I finally did it. Thank you Huddson for picking me as one of the people to do this, sorry it took me so long, but here it goes.

#1.  I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 12th, 1968.  Lincoln’s Birthday; that explains my brilliance and modesty.

#2.  Like Dean Holland, I’m an only child.  Always wanted siblings, but never happened.  It’s funny, but usually people with brothers and sisters wish they were the only child.  For Dean and I it’s the other way around.  We wanted siblings.  Go figure.

#3.  I cannot stand rude people!  My mom always taught me to say, “Please and Thank You”.  My momma raised me right.  Thanks mom.  See, I “thanked” her.

#4.  I worked retail security for several years and have arrested several violent shoplifters.  One of them stabbed me twice in the arm, bit me 4 times and slashed my hands when I tried to arrest him.  He got 15 years in prison because it was his third strike.  I considered him rude.

Way rude!

Way rude!

#5.  My wife’s name is Flo, and we have been married for ten years.  She is the nicest person that you’de ever want to meet, that’s why I love her.  Oh, and she’s not rude.

My Flo!

#6.  I love baseball.  Go Angels!  I love watching it, going to games, playing it, but one of my biggest joys in life is coaching it.  I coach 13 and 14 year olds, and love every minute of it.  I especially enjoy working with pitchers.

GO ANGELS!!!

GO ANGELS!!!

#7.  My son is 19 years old and his name is Edward.  He is an awesome young man.  No, not just because he’s a baseball player, but because he really is a great guy.  I love him too.

That's my boy!

That's my boy... as a boy!

#8.  We have the best dog in the world.  Her name is Keysha and we rescued her from the animal shelter.  She’s a Dachshund mix.

Those eyes!

Those eyes!

Yup. It's a rain coat.

Yup. It's a rain coat.

#9.  My favorite movies are Star Wars (all six, but mostly the first 3), and Braveheart.  I so want to visit Scotland.

#10.  While we’re on the subject of movies, I cry at them.  Especially the movie, “The Notebook”.  Gets me everytime.  Oh yeah, I also cry at movies (chick flicks) that I don’t want to see, but my wife makes me watch.  Stupid love stories.  I don’t care what you think.  I’m secure enough to admit that.  :)

The Cry Baby!

The Cry Baby!

#11.  My favorite television show is Scrubs.  My wife bought me the first season for my “half birthday” (yes we do), and I was hooked.  We now own all the seasons.  I like the “bromance” between Turk and J.D.  Did I just say that?  Incidentally, Turk, or Donald Faison in real life, is a huge Star Wars fan, and can recite the movie like I can.

SCRUBS!!!

SCRUBS!!!

#12.  My wife and I read out loud to one another.  We take turns picking books and read them on road trips, or when we have time.

#13.  Speaking of road trips.  I have absolutely no sense of direction.  I get lost all the time and if you ask me which way North is, I’ll be sure to get you lost too.  I have to call Flo to get me back on track to my destination.  She’s the one with the sense of direction.

#14.  My best friend is Paul Wanamaker, and we have been friends since we were in Boy Scouts together.

#15.  I sleep with a body pillow.  In fact, if I don’t have one, I don’t sleep well at all.  My wife made me throw that one in.

#16.  I once bought my wife a jar of Nads, which is a hair removal product that you put on a cloth, then smooth the gel covered cloth it out on the part of the body that you want to remove the hair from and… RIP!  Uh, yeah.  Flo wanted to try it on me first to see how it worked, so I said what the heck.  She applied it, and then RIPPED it off.  I squatted down into a crouch faster than anyone ever has, and screamed, “F#@%!”.  My wife could not stop laughing.  Upon closer observation little droplets of blood appeared where she ripped off the Nads.  OK, it’s funny in hindsight.

Nooooooooooooooooo...

Nooooooooooooooooo...

#17.   When I was a kid I found a purse in a shopping cart.  My mom and I found identification inside and took it to the owners house and gave it back.  She was so grateful that she gave me a cash reward.  I took that money and took a cake decorating class with my mom.  Uh… don’t ask me why.   I still don’t know.  Since then I’ve made several cakes including three wedding cakes, including one for Paul, my best friend.

#18.  I took dance in high school and also enrolled in a dance school where I learned ballet, tap and jazz.

#19.  I took a martial art called Hwa Rang Do for several years to defend myself from the guys that wanted to kick my butt for wearing leg warmers and tights.  Hehe.   Just kidding.  I took it because I enjoyed it.

What was I thinking?

What was I thinking?

#20.  I sell on eBay and I am an Education Specialist trained by eBay.  My favorite thing to do in relation to eBay is teaching the classes.  I love helping others.

#21.  Here’s a list of my bodily injuries:

  • Fractured skull
  • Three knee surgeries
  • Two shoulder surgeries
  • Right shoulder dislocation from pitching
  • Surgery to remove and infected Lymph node gland from my right arm pit
  • And stabbed twice by a rude fellow
Been there, done that.

Been there, done that.

#22.  Apparently, I really like steak.  My wife pointed that out recently.  Hey, I only buy it when it’s on sale dear.  She made me put that one in too.

Mmmmm... steak!

Mmmmm... steak!

#23.  My two front, top teeth are caps.  On was knocked loose by a shoplifter that I was arresting, and the other one got knocked loose in high school by a guy that said, “let me see that”, referring to my Rubik’s Cube.  He reached for it, but I grabbed it before he could put his hands on it and said, “Don’t you know how to say please?”  About a minute later when I was looking down at my cube he sucker punched me.  I thought he was rude.

#24.  I don’t like being called, “Edward”, I prefer Ed.  When I was in trouble as a kid my mom used to call me by my full first name since I don’t have a middle name .  Needless to say, she called me Edward a lot.

Mister Ed, a classic!

Mister Ed, a classic!

#25.  I was an extra in 3 movies;  Dead women in lingerie (the title has since been changed),  Scissors (starring Sharon Stone), and Death Warrant (starring Jean Claud VanDamme).  Take that Marcus Passey:)

My fifteen minutes.

My fifteen minutes.

I’m sure a lot of that was TMI (Too Much Information), but there you go.  Thanks again Huddson.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

And now comes the sweet part.  I am tagging the following people:

Dean Holland

Ralph Altman

Mark Terrell

Rob Brooks

Nads? You mean Nads, like Go-Nads, or like NO-Nads??? :)
Goodness, there are things I wouldn’t tell, in fact I didn’t tell it, but you guys say it all!!
Love Star Wars!! Was in Hollywood when it came out and we couldn’t get into Graumans for about a year! The line was all the way around the block!! Thank God for boxed sets!!
I was also in a movie when I was a kid. I was an extra in get this……KISS goes to Hollywood! Great movie! Yea…ok!
Grat Post Ed, Keep ‘em coming!
Talk to you soon!!
Lisa~

Hi Ed
Yes i have to admit i like chick flicks and get a bit teary eyed. But the thing is no one makes me,i want to watch them.I have the note book on my hard drive but never got round to watching it yet,i will now.
Oh and yes i am a man.
Never got the star wars thing though.
Brave heart what a great film.Love the fantastic speech ”but they will never take our freedom”
Of course being English that’s directed at me.
The Scots will use any excuse to bang the english, and with brave heart they did it in spades.

Tom

Hi Lisa,
Hehe. I know a comment about Nads would come about and you
were the first to say it. What a weird name for a product, and
what a product… eesh!
I remember being up North in Hayward, CA with my cousins when
Star Wars came out and the line wrapped around the theater
back then too. I saw the first Star Wars in ’77 thirty three times
in the theater. My mom would drop me off and I would stay there
all day. Ah, the good ol’ days.
In regard to KISS… never been a fan, but I wouldn’t say no to
being an extra in a movie of theirs. The Jean Claude movie was
the funnest. He was a clown on the set, and made it fun.
Well, thanks for commenting on my blog. I always appreciate it.
You ROCK.

Thanks again,

Ed

Hi Tom,
Thanks for popping by. Ok. You got me. Sometimes
I want to see the chick flicks too. :) If you haven’t
seen The Notebook, you have to see it. It’s a
wonderful story, one of the best. Bring plenty of
tissue.
Yeah. I had no idea about the history between
Scotland and England until I saw the movie. It’s
funny that you said that… “any excuse”, that is.
BH was a fantastic movie, and yeah, I cried, and
yes… we are men! :)

Thanks again,

Ed

Hi Ed

Great getting to know you. So you have been a movie extra, so cool. I love Steak infact I love meat, but then I decend from a family of farmers and butchers.

Scotland is a great place, cold and that was in summer but I really enjoyed it. Went to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh was brillant. My brother goes every second year to act in a play.

Great Post as usual

Kerie :-D

Dude: I have to stop now because I am laughing so hard, my cheeks hurt! This is the most hilarious thing I have read in years–and just the photo of Darth Edheart alone–that needs to be your new Gravatar profile pic!
Talk soon,
Ralph

Hi Kerie,
Thanks for popping by and thanks for your comments.
I had to look up Fringe Festival and I found the official
web site for the one in Edinburgh. Apparently, they
are all over the world. It looked very interesting;
singing, dancing, acting and art. I want to go, and I
want to go to the one in Scotland now. Ah, goals.

Thanks again,

Ed

Hi Ralph,
Thanks. I tried to make it entertaining. I actually did a
better Darth Edheart that took me about an hour, but I
messed up and accidentally erased it. That was awesome!
This one did not take me as long so I’m glad you liked it.
That makes it worth it. By the way my friend, I tagged you
to do your 25 things list. Can’t wait to see it.

Thanks again,

Ed

Hey Ed,

Congratulations on taking this challenge!! You’ve done really well!!

I’m so glad you have Flo to be your wife and you two just seem to be the perfect match for each other. I’m single for now and i’m a little jealous…..it must be awesome to have found the one who you want to spend the rest of your life with and can’t live without :)

Keysha’s eyes are so innocent and beautiful… makes me remember little Lucky for a minute…

Your list of bodily injuries….speechless!!

Were you really a vegan for 8months?? What was it like?? Just curious……

*I’m so grateful that you were inspired by the note I tagged you on facebook and that you got new ideas for your baseball coaching.

Take care my friend,

Huddson

Hi Huddson,
You know something? I don’t know you that well, but I like
you a lot. I can sense what kind of heart you have by the
facebook post you made and by your comments on my blog.
Buddy, with a heart like yours, you won’t be single for long.

Thanks too, for your comments about Keysha. We love her
she is a great dog (family member). :)

Yeah, I was vegan for 8 months. My wife and I read a book
entitled… excuse me for this, but it was entitled, “Skinny
Bitch”. It talks about what they do to the animals at
slaughter houses (it’s unbelievable), and what is really in
the processed food we eat. You should read it, the authors
are hilarious too.

Lastly, I cannot wait for the new baseball season to start
to do the blue ribbon thing. Thanks again for that.

Thanks again Huddson, and all the best,

Ed

Hi Ed

Your dog is so cute :-) I perfer her in the rain coat to keep her fur dry :-) …The picture of you with Mel Gibson’s face is so funny, its actually a perfect fit.

I love star wars the original, I think its one of those movies that most people can undentified with, fulfilling your destiny and beliving in yourself..whos your favourite character?

May the force be with you

Avis

Hi Ed,
Wow what a great post with great pictures. Your life is now out there man, you’ve been through plenty. Most important is your awesome family.

You’ll have no problem building relationship with your list. It will drip with love and support.

By the way my wife saw Pastor Coy speak recently in NY.
Talk soon,
Rob

Congratulations Ed on taking the challenge! Really enjoyed reading your post, laugh out loud funny, highly entertaining. You sound like an incredibly nice guy who knows how to live life…very brave too, what with attempting the whole Nads thing and all!! :-D

Annie

Hi Rob,
Thank you for the nice comment. You Sir, are awesome! It’s always good to hear from you. I hope that your other ventures are going great. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. In regard to your wife getting to hear Pastor Coy, what did she think? He cracks me up.

Thanks again and all the best,

Ed

Hi Avis,
Thanks for the compliment about my dog, Keysha. She’s the best. I hadn’t had a dog since I was a kid and I forgot how great they are and how much you love them. I think the rain coat picture is great; one of my favorites so far.
Yeah, the first three Star Wars movies were great; Episode 4, 5 and 6. Ep.1 was a bit rough, and 2 and 3 were better. If you’re a fan though, you have to like ‘em all. My very favorite was Empires Strikes Back. As for my favorite character, that would have to be Boba and Jengo Fett. Yeah, I know they are bad guys, but I think they’re cool. I also like the look of the Emperor’s Royal Gurards, the red guys. It was a buzz kill when Yoda just wave his hand and took ‘em down though. Oh, well.

Thanks again Avis… and May The Force Be With You,

Ed

Hi Ann,
Brave and stupid mean the same thing when talking about the Nads situation. Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. How’s it going over there in Alex Jeffreys’ camp? I’ll be check you out your blog here in a little bit.

Ed
