Hi everyone! As you know, my name is Ed “Edward” Rubi. You may also know that I’m an internet marketer; however, unless you know me personally you probably have no idea that I am also an eBay Education Specialist trained by eBay. This means that I teach people how to sell in a live classroom setting. The classes that I teach are, “The Basics of Selling on eBay”, “Beyond the Basics”, and “eBay Stores”.
What does all this mean to you? Well, because you are a subscriber of mine I’m going to be teaching you, FOR FREE, what I teach my students in the live class. Normally, I charge $100 per person for each class I teach, or $50 dollars an hour for private lessons.
Why am I doing this? I’m doing this because I know that it’s tough times out there for a lot of people, and I just want to help you out. Ebay estimates that most people have about $2,000 worth of stuff that they can sell on eBay right now just sitting around that they will never use… think garages, closets, or where ever you store stuff.
That being said, today’s lesson is going to be how to do eBay market research, and it’s free! This free eBay research, otherwise known as a completed listings search, will show you how to find out how much those unwanted items will sell for.
In addition to the free eBay research tools, I will show you some additional options for researching your items. They are Terapeak.com, and PriceMiner.com.
Please comment below to let me know what you thought, and if you have any questions about selling, or even buying on eBay please contact me at support@edwardrubi.com.

Hi Ed,
I am glad you put these up here. I am such an Ebay newbie and I know I have a few grand laying around the house!
How could I go about getting some training on listing things after I have searched their value? Do you do that? I would rather learn from someone I know that wants to help me, than Ebay or some random person I have never heard of!!
Do you have a video vault or something?
I would really like to list some collectibles I have at home.
Very cool videos, and I really like your clear voice when you are talking!
Thanks again!!
You ROCK!!
Lisa~
Thanks Lisa. Yeah, the next set of vids will be about signing up for a sellers account on eBay, so watch out for them. Thanks for the kind words too.
All the best,
Ed
Hey hey Coach…
How’re you doing Ed…??
It was really good to bump into you and Lisa in Tommy’s forum the other day…
Reminds me a bit about being on Dean’s (SWM Coaching) with you guy’s…
I’ve sort of dropped out of the habbit of getting into the old forum, but I’ll get back there soon.
It’s really good to see so many of the guy’s following you and dropping by to have a word.
BTW..I’m still with Dean….I joined up with him again with his “Mass Money Method”which is about “List”building….I won’t leave any tips here ….I’ll leave that for you to do..lol
Speak again soon.
M.
Hey Malcolm,
Thank you for stopping by. It’s good to see you in Tommy’s class too. Looks like we’re going to be learning new stuff, doesn’t it? Can wait to see what Tommy has in store for us. Cool!!!
All the best,
Ed
My alternative income stream is selling stuffs on Ebay and i can say that i earn a lot from selling on Ebay-~,
Hi Ed,
Great tips and advice on ebay. I have just started to begin listing again. I used to sell online years ago when I first had my bubba, but got a little side tracked learning all this IM stuff from JT along the way.
I have 2 sheds I need to clear out so I know I should be able to pay the credit card off soon!
Hope everything is going well. Looking forward to more vids.
Cheers
Jacinta
Hi Ed.
You have an amazing web site here.
Thanks for the videos, I needed something like this.
I know some about Ebay but your videos will help me get more out of my Ebay selling.
Thanks again.
I’ll be back often.
Gert.
Hi Gert! Thanks very much for stopping by. If you ever have any eBay questions please let me know. The next video will be on signing up for a sellers account, so check back soon.
All the best,
Ed
Hi Jacinta! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Cool! Let me know if you need any eBay help, I’d be glad to help you out. Lisa always talks about you and says what a great person you are, so it’s a privilege to have you pop by my humble little blog. Check back soon for more videos.
All the best,
Ed
Yeah, a lot can be earned using eBay. Great to hear you’re taking advantage of it.
All the best,
Ed
Hey Ed, have you heard whether or not eBay is going to change their auction format to extend the bid closing time if someone makes a last minute bid?
A lot of auctions heat up in the last minute and this is good up to a point but often bids are just cents more than the current highest bidder.
With auto extensions of the auction – say be 5 minutes each time a bid is made within the last 5 minutes. That way, genuine bidding can take place and those people currently winning auctions by 5 cents will have to think of a new strategy.
Hi Michael,
OK. I have searched high and low and I even contacted eBay about what you are talking about, but I have heard nothing more about this. If you find out anything else please pass it on, because the eBay reps don’t even know about it. It does sound good though. : )
All the best,
Ed
Okay, thanks for doing that. I guess it is a matter of waiting to see if they change their auction format. Perhaps it is still working okay for them the way it is. With the moving closing time though it is better for the seller as the selling price is likely to be higher on average.
Hi again Michael! Yeah. I really liked the idea of extending the auction when there are last minute bidders. It sounded really good to me. Hey, maybe that’s your million dollar idea. If I hear anything else I will let you know. Thanks again for the question.
All the best,
Ed
